Tentacle Soup

So I am sitting in my classroom thinking to myself "gee, I don't really have anything to put on my blog" when all of a sudden I get a phone call from one of my co-teachers. She informed me that there was pizza downstairs and I should come. Seeing as I can't say no to free pizza, I made my way downstairs to find two pizza hut boxes open and on display. What was in them was something that I have kept hearing about.
Pizza is different here. Some pizza has sweet potatoes baked into the crust while other pizza has shrimp / onions / peppers / special sauce / pineapple scattered across the top. What you are looking at above has the ladder. Strange? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely!

But today wasn't Thursday. Today was Friday and I taught the 4th grade for the first time. The catch is that I felt awful all morning doing it and just wanted to go back to sleep. However, that wasn't apart of the song and dance routine that I had to put on for the kids. I wouldn't have minded that much if I didn't feel like throwing up. This is why I was banking on lunch being normal at school today. I knew that if lunch was normal I would feel a lot better after eating. This, my friends, was a pipe dream.

The lunch menu consisted of purple tentacle soup, spicy tofu (which I am not a fan of), salty sea fruit in salt water, apples, rice, and some weird wild mushroom salad. I will admit that I tried everything. I mostly ate apples and rice, but I tried one of everything damnit!

Anyway, it's Friday night and I am going to sleep early. I am here for a year, so I thought I might catch up on some ZZZ's and dream of purple tentacle soup.
