Hello all! I finally got my apartment and finished orientation. I am sad to leave all my new friends, but I am glad to get this show on the road.
I have an apartment in Gongneung, South Korea. It isn't the nicest of areas, but I am about a 10 minute subway ride away from a place called Nowon, which is like the "Seoul" you see on TV. I am still not sure if my internet is hooked up, but I will post some pictures later. Also, Gongneung is located WAY North East in Seoul...kind of like an Edmond situation (just not as nice).
I also got to meet my co-teachers today and all the other teachers at the school I will be teaching at. I will be teaching third to fifth grade and am about a 20 minute subway ride away from work. All in all, I think I am happy with that situation. Could have been a lot worse.
So after getting back from being shown off at my new school (like a celebrity might I add), my co-teacher wanted me to meet the other native teacher in my building. He wasn't home, so my co-teacher called him to find out that he had moved yesterday and was no longer in the building. However, just as all hope was lost, two of my friends from the orientation appeared and informed me they were on the 4th floor of my small building (one floor below me. my apartment number is 504 if you were wondering. no elevator.). I got to say that it is REALLY nice to know that I have other people I kind of know in my building.
Anywho, I am at a PC Bang (a pay by the hour computer room), so I am going to head home and start unpacking. I should get a cellphone tomorrow and hopefully will already have the internet hooked up.
Love you all!
