Poop Bread

Korea is filled with magic and wonders that can literally take your breath away. One of those wonders is the fascination with Poop...or 똥 (dong). You can find statues celebrating little kids sticking their fingers up someone's butt (called 똥침 or dong chim) to bread modeled after poop. While I haven't seen the statue yet, I did get the pleasure of sampling some rightfully named "똥빵" (or dong bong, which means poop bread).

This warm and gooey treat is kind of a pancake, modeled after poo, and filled with a red bean paste. While you might be wondering why anyone would want to imagine eating poop, I can assure you that it was quite delicious.

Next on the agenda was Turkish ice cream. This is no ordinary iced treat. It is best described as being a mix between gellato, regular ice cream, and glue. This means that it STICKS to the cone and forms a bond that can be tested with the most death defing feats of twisting and turning as if gravity did not exist.

I wish I had taken video of me trying to grab it, but my buddy Ryan will have to do. The guy went up, down, left, right, and even tried to touch my crotch with the cone. He had no shame...good thing I have none either. Ryan, on the other hand, witnessed my "grabbing the cone test" prior to his purchase and came prepared. As you can see, even his aggresive tactics stood no match for the wild Turk.
